A note on dance notation

I'm assuming anyone trying to decipher my notation has some experience of contra.

I generally try to use consistent abbreviations:

• L = Left
• R = Right
• N = Neighbour
• P = Partner
• Alm = Allemande (once unless specified)
• Thru = Through (Pass thru is R shoulder and up-and-down unless specified)
• LLFB or Lines f/b = (Long) lines forward and back
• Hey (Larks L) indicates who is passing by which shoulder to start
• Slide R / L from wave is as in Rory O'More

The weird thing about my notation is that I don't necessarily write the formation the dance starts the A1 in. I write what you need to do to get from improper to the start of the walkthrough (if it's blank, assume improper), and then I indicate the start of the walkthrough with an el segno: 𝄋

The main place this crops up is Becket dances that start with a circle 3/4 and 𝄋 N swing, but there's a couple of other dances where I use that to start the walkthrough from a more intuitive place than the start of the dance.
